Doctor X: Era of the White Mafia [literal title] is reported to be a medical drama that portrays genius surgeon Gye Su Jung confronting absurd realities solely with her exceptional surgical skills.

Kim Ji Won debuted in the industry with a commercial in 2010 and rose to fame as a leading actress with unique acting skills in numerous works such as Descendants of the Sun, and My Liberation Diary.

Last year, Kim Ji Won received immense acclaim domestically and internationally for her role as Hong Hae In in the tvN drama Queen of Tears, in which she starred alongside Kim Soo Hyun.

Known for her ability to portray deep and emotionally complex characters, Kim has consistently impressed audiences with her versatility. If she takes on the role of the genius surgeon Gye Su Jung, it would mark her first time starring in a medical drama in a lead role, a genre that often demands both precision and intense emotional delivery. Anticipation is high on whether she will captivate viewers once again with her acting transformation.

Given her past success with dramas, such as Descendants of the Sun and My Liberation Diary, her transition to a more procedural and high-stakes narrative is highly anticipated. The role of a brilliant surgeon battling a corrupt system could showcase a new, charismatic side of her acting range.

Furthermore, Doctor X: Era of the White Mafia is expected to feature intricate medical cases and ethical dilemmas, adding depth to its storytelling. With medical dramas gaining popularity both in Korea and internationally, Kim’s potential casting could contribute to the show’s global appeal. If she confirms her role, fans can look forward to seeing her deliver another compelling performance in a challenging and dynamic setting.
